HAYFORD ABROKWA
Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Psychologist. Clinical Neuropsychologist.
Graduated in 2017 from the ‘Complutense University of Madrid’ specializing in Neuropsychology, Hayford always knew his focus would be on young people and children. While becoming a healthcare professional through the Master’s in General Health Psychology and simultaneously expanding his education with a Master’s in Neuropsychology from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, he began seeking opportunities to specialize in the field of childhood and adolescence. Involved in mental health projects with at-risk youth and their families, he gained clinical experience in intervention with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, behavioural and mood disorders during his placements at the ‘Complex Diagnosis’ and ‘AMITEA’ services at the ‘Gregorio Marañón University General Hospital’ and the Outpatient Psychology and Neuropsychology service at the ‘Materno-Infantil Hospital’.
Currently, in addition to his clinical work at the Colev Clinic, he is in the process of obtaining a Doctorate in Medicine through his research in the fields of translational psychiatry, severe mental disorders, and psychosocial factors affecting the development of difficulties in childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Furthermore, he is a collaborative professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the ‘Complutense University of Madrid’, teaching courses in Psychiatry and the Psychological Foundations of Health and Disease.
With a person-centred approach and a focus on the individual’s relationship with their environment, Hayford addresses psychological and neuropsychological challenges by providing support and solutions with the involvement of the family.
