Dr. Raquel Jiménez García
Paediatrician
Dr. Raquel Jiménez graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid (1993). She holds a PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2015). She specialized in Paediatrics and its Specific Areas at the Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital in Madrid (2001) and in Family and Community Medicine at the Toledo Teaching Unit (1996).
She has been working as a paediatrician for more than 20 years, initially in the field of Paediatric Intensive Care/Emergency and later as Head of the General Paediatrics Section at the prestigious Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital in Madrid, where she is responsible for the hospitalization area, the Home Hospitalization Unit, paediatrics consultations and the Adolescent Unit.
In her clinical practice, she sees children of all ages, from newborns to teens and young adults. She has extensive experience in Eating Disorders.
She is an associate professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, actively participating in the training of medical students and paediatric residents and has taught more than 150 training courses aimed at paediatricians.
As a researcher, throughout her career she has participated in numerous national and international conferences, has published more than 100 chapters in paediatric books and 40 publications in scientific journals. She has supervised several doctoral theses focused on paediatric diseases.
Her work philosophy is based on evaluating the health of children and teens, focusing on their physical and emotional well-being. She is a paediatrician committed to achieving a personalized and close relationship with the patient and his or her family, generating trust and comfort at each visit.
