ANA LÓPEZ ALONSO
Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Psychologist. Clinical Neuropsychologist.
Ana graduated in Psychology within the Spanish-English Bilingual program from Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in clinical and health psychology. After finishing her undergraduate studies, Ana moved to United Kingdom to study a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies at Queen Mary University of London. At the same time, she worked at a mental health day-center for people diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Once she completed her studies, she stayed in London working at a young people’s service for those at risk of social exclusion, where she gained experience with adolescents with disruptive behavior, use of substances and emotional difficulties.
Later, she worked in the National Health Service (NHS) as primary care psychologist, treating diverse cases, especially anxiety and depressive disorders.
Upon her return to Spain, she completed a Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology at Complutense University of Madrid, doing her internship at the mental health outpatient clinics at the “Hospital Clínico San Carlos”. After she finished, she started her clinical practice treating a wide range of cases from children and adolescents to adults.
In addition, she holds an Expert Title in Psychological Treatment of Eating Disorders from the “Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia”.
Ana carries out her professional practice with an integrative and person-focused approach. She considers essential to use psychological techniques that have demonstrated scientific evidence while adapting the treatment plan to the patient’s personal history. She performs individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults, as well as neuropsychological assessments for the diagnosis of psychological and neurodevelopmental disorders.
